Tonight we cover some online form suggestions, messed up rank patches, topping Gallagher, pinewood derby track suggestions and a lot of feedback in this extra long episode.
Really enjoyed the show Chris. I wanted to comment on the Derby Track. We built a 2 lane wooden track that worked great the first year, but it warped over the summer and we had to sand it to get it to work the next couple of years, then the storage trailer it was in sprung a leak and ruined it. We bought a Plastic track from Supertrack, but it did not make it through the first Derby. We just placed an order for a 4 lane aluminum track from MicroWizard. We have close to 100 scouts and are looking forward to having a state of the art track (we hope).

Our 3 lane wooden track is still in excellent condition (we store it indoors in a very fancy wood case) so I don't foresee having to replace it for several more years, most likely after I am no longer with the pack since my son is a 4th grade Webelos Scout. But are the aluminum tracks really that much better? I know they store well but I didn't know if they ran smoother or warped less easily. Aluminum – aluminium for our UK scouters out there - isn't the most rigid of metals.
I'm just asking, I don't rightly know for sure. The only experience I've had with an aluminum track is that our new council service center put a short track in the front lobby as an interactive display for visitors and it seems much louder when the cars are running versus a wooden track.
