I went to training for Adventure Base 100 last night. The mysterious VIP Area is the volunteer check in and last minute training area.
Since the Rose bowl parade many of the stops have been stand alone events (for example: Austin) They don't seem to go as well. On average the AB100 needs 20-40 volunteers on location to keep things running smoothly. Any less and you get back ups.
So far the record single day attendance is 14,000 people.

AB100 had a bad location at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. It was essentially in the middle of the grounds but behind the buildings around it. We had about 10,000 people enter the AB100 over the 4 day stay.

I just signed up to volunteer at AB100, for the 2 hours before my pack is planning on getting there. I thought I'd at least know the ropes before the boys show up.
Ironically enough, our council planned a number of other events that weekend, so maybe people will be spread out.
