On June 30th, the "Training Validation" module went live on MyScouting. This has been very valuable to check the training records for the units I serve as a Commissioner, and to ensure my Unit Commissioners are properly trained.
BTW – I found that MyScouting is working well with IE8 under Windows 7 (which has been hard for me to adjust to as a very seasoned Mac user).

I tried out the training validation module. The records were in better shape than I had thought. Mine was about 60% accurate (26 out of 46 courses correct).

I tried it this morning, and the ones I took online seem to be correct, the ones I did offline (Like BALOO, IOLS, and OWL) didn't show up. Not sure if that's not tracked by the system, or if that's because my registration was delayed due to a missing signature.

About your comment about the secretary at council….. HECK YEAH!!! We have 3 "administrative assistants" at our council. One of them has been with BSA for over 25 years. If she doesn't know the answer, either it isn't out there or she will send you to who/where to find it!!
HOWEVER, in our council, these 3 ladies are SEVERELY over worked! They have TO DO lists that will keep them busy for a year and is expected to do it all in 24 hours! I made friends with our secretary and started volunteering to help her out. It's amazing all the stuff that they do!!!
So, treat them well!! Besides, you never know when you might need a favor! (I once saw a unit that submitted a tour permit VERY late. They called and she warned them that there was no guarantee that they'd get to approving it for a couple of days…it was right before a HUGE event. Within an hour she had flowers delivered to her! The tour permit was done in 15 min.)

As the CC of a pack with no Unit Commissioner (since we run a tight, successful unit — according to the DEs), I am in contact with our DE all the time. They have always been the point of contact for units since I started with the pack a few years back. They are more visable at RT and other district events than the other UCs or even the District Commissioner. Most of the time when folks go to the DC, the DC sends them to the DE anyway.

Apparently I took Boy Scout Fast Start training on 1/1/1911 . National says so, it must be true.
I'm guessing anything before their records started got given that date as a "before the database" date. My next earliest date is 2007, what about others?

National shows that I had a couple of trainings in 1998, so I suspect that the 1911 must be a typo since you don't look a day over 80.

On the alphabet soup part of this show, I had the same position codes as Chris but figured I'd add in a few more that we throw around out this way:
The first ones we're the ones Chris mentioned:
COR – Chartered Organization Representative (we sometimes also use CR for this)
CC – Committee Chair
DL – Den Leader
CM – Cubmaster
ACM – Assistant Cubmaster
ADL – Assistant Den Leader
TL – Tiger Den Leader (we generally use TDL)
WL – Webelos Den Leader (we generally use WDL)
IH – Institutional Head
MC – Committee Member
WADL – Assistant Webelos Den Leader (we generally use AWDL)
PT – Pack Trainer
UC – Unit Commissioner
ADC – Assistant District Commissioner
Others that come to mind:
DC – District Commissioner
DE – District Executive
DD – District Director
RTC – Roundtable Commissioner
CSRTC – Cub Scout Roundtable Commissioner
SM – Scoutmaster
ASM – Assistant Scoutmaster
I'm wondering if National changed their codes so they're all two-letters instead of three. Because I just looked at the list on the adult application and they're all 2 letters and seem different than ones I remember being on there with 3 letter codes (like ACM for Assistant Cubmaster). Here's what's on the official application (http://www.scouting.org/filest…..8-501.pdf):
CR Chartered Organization Representative
CC Committee Chairman
MC Committee Member
SM Scoutmaster
SA Assistant Scoutmaster
NL Crew Advisor
NA Crew Associate Advisor
SK Skipper
MT Mate
VC Varisty Scout Coach
VA Assistant Varsity Scout Coach
CM Cubmaster
CA Assistant Cubmaster
WL Webelos Den Leader
WA Assistant Webelos Den Leader
DL Den Leader
DA Assistant Den Leader
TL Tiger Den Leader
PT Pack Trainer
