Okay, you've left this WIDE open!!! Specifically what kind of ideas are you looking for?? Program? Food? Ceremony? Location? Timeline? (get my point??)
I'm in the process of helping with my son's cross-over B&G. Here's what we have:
Check-in
Welcome
Open Ceremony (by attending troops)
All Den Awards
AOL/Cross-over
Webelos 2 slideshow
Entertainment
Special Presentations
Dessert Bar
Closing comments
Closing – Scout Vespers
At this point I'm just a parent so I don't really care about the ceremonies of nitty gritty details (that's my CM Hubby's problem!) The boys have been doing alot of the planning so they've had total control of what is involved. They INSISTED that we have entertainment.
Our theme is the same as summer camp which is something about exploring the past, discovering the future (or something like that). Each den is responsible for making 2 centerpieces along that theme. The rest is pretty simple.
Let me know if you need any other info!!! I'll do my best (this is my 4th B&G and I did actually fill a leadership role for the others)
Kris Brabham – Pack Committee Member, Troop(s) Committee (have 2 sons in 2 troops), Soon to be Crew Advisor
Thanks, Kriss! Ha ha, I meant for it to be an open-ended question. I love hearing about any good ideas. Anything to sequence, ceremonies, decorations, food, you name it. Some of the greatest ideas come from the PTC gang.
I liked the dessert bar as well! I'm going to have to use that somewhere else though. We do the cake bake during the Blue and Gold and that serves as our Dessert. Our Theme is Pack to the Future and my hubby the CM is building a time machine as part of the rank awards ceremony. We are also doing a Scout Museum of pictures of family in scouting and memorabilia (sp?) from family members. One of our dads was acually in our pack as a boy and he still has his shirt! super cool!
