I'm doing a class at our Scout University next month on Ceremonies. I've never done it before so I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions on ceremonies I HAVE to include. I'm more of the Committee Chair/Planning person so this is a little out of my comfort zone, but I'm up for the challenge (and I can't be any worse than the 90 yr old lady who has taught it the last few years!)
Please give me any tips or tricks you might have!!! I already am planning out a "bad" baggie presentation to teach what NOT to do!!
Thanks in advance for any tips!!!

I've taught it for several years at UofS.
Why the Bad Baggie? We use baggies at our Court of Honors. All Merit Badges, MB Cards, and Rank Cards and Service Pins are put in it.
Rank Patches, Special patches (mile swim, world con, Philmont), etc kept out and handed to them separately.
Used properly the Baggies is helpful. Keeps all cards dry and sorted, keeps pin from disappearing. Same with Merit Badges. Ranks are pinned on and other patches are handed out when they come up to be honored. Then they put them in their bag. Since we've done it we've no patches, cards, pins, loose items ever left behind. One does find a bag or two and knows exactly who it belongs to.

Kris,
When we did the Ceremonies show, one of the files we referred to was one I received at a class I took about Ceremonies. It is helpful to new leaders – if only to get their brains moving.

Feel free to edit it to your needs and the theme of your Scout University.

With a simple Google search I hit the jackpot!!! Dave Manchester has put together what he's called the "Ceremony Table". It seems to be just a sampling of a bigger collection, but there's still a TON! There are openings, closings & inductions as well.
Here is where it's found: http://my.dmci.net/~dmancheste…..Sample.pdf
He has a whole site to go along with that: http://my.dmci.net/~dmancheste…..efault.htm

Ooh, thanks for posting those links, Kris. Super helpful! (Hmm… I know of a brand new Cubmaster who will definitely dig on this! He just started and was just asking about ceremonies!)
