How did you celebrate Scout Sunday and how will you celebrate Scout Sabbath?

I am not aware of anyone within our Unit doing anything for Scout Sunday. Pretty sad.

We had 12 boys from our pack participate in a mass this past Sunday at our charter organization. Our boys walked in the processional, assisted with the offering, presented the Gifts and went up to the alter for the children's homily.
This coming Sunday (Scout Sunday for mine and my son's own church) we will be presenting the God & Family religious emblem to 4 of our Webelos scouts and the Girl Scout sister of one of the Webelos. In addition, I will be receiving the Adult Religious emblem, God & Service.
We offer the annual Scout Sunday patch as an incentive to participating in Scout Sunday services.

Our Pack doen't have anything official, but I did mention both Scout Sunday and Scout Sabbath at our last Pack Meeting when I was awarding one of our Cub Scouts the Aleph Medal. I explained what it was and invited them to participate in the tradition of thier faith. I think it is easier to make those connections for packs that are chartered by a religous organization, inviting the Cub Scout families to support the CO. We are a self-chartered pack, so we don't have particular service to invite them to.
Personally, I was invited back to my hometown to give the Scout Sunday sermon to the church I grew up in and the Troop that I was a member of as a Scout. After struggling with a topic for a while, I found something Phil Peck (SM_Phil) had posted about the easy way vs. why we volunteer as Scouters.

Phil kindly let me use that as the basis for my sermon, and I posted the result here:

Turns out the sanctuary was filled with Scouts (current and former) and Scouters for the Pack and Troop that are sponsored by the church. The Council's Scout Executive and Council Commissioner were in the audience. The first Eagle Scout from my troop and the latest Eagle Scout from my Troop were there. It was amazing! Scout Sunday was a lot of fun, I really enjoyed meeting the current members of my Troop and the trip down memory lane while writing the sermon. My son got the chance to do the flag ceremony during the worship service, and I got the chance to publicly say thanks to my Scoutmaster's parents (he died of cancer in 1998). Over all a wonderful day.

Our Charter Organization is a church, so the whole pack shows up for Scout Sunday mass. The boys march into church as part of the processional, Bears and Webelos get called up and receive religious medals, the pack gets a special blessing from the priest, and the scouts participate in leading some of the prayers. After church, we go to the hall where we hold our Blue & Gold brunch.

This was a special Scout Sunday for our troop. We celebrated our 100th anniversary of sponsorship by the church. Our Scouts served as readers, greeters, acolytes and ushers. We put together a special eight page full color report to the congregation showing activities of the past year. The troop had a display in the fellowship area where we served refreshments. We are fortunate to be part of a church where Scouting is viewed as an integral youth ministry and where the roots of Scouting are very deep spanning several generations.

For Scout Sunday, members of the pack help usher at our CO. Our CO is United Methodist so our Scout Sunday is actually the 2nd Sunday of February.
We didn't have very good participation this year.

At my church we do the 2nd Sunday of February so it doesn't interfere with communion Sunday (1st Sunday of each month). The past few years we've gone all out, it's all Scouts and the only person who isn't a Scout (or Scouter or a former Scout/Scouter) involved in the service is usually the Music Director who plays the organ. We also include the Girl Scouts in our celebration as well.
I did a big write-up on this year's Scout Sunday on my blog, here's a link to it:

In 2012, with the 100th anniversary of the Girl Scouts taking place on 3/12/12, we are going to move our Scout Sunday service to March 11 if possible (it is during lent, so it might be a problem).
