(No, this isn't my cat, nor did I torment this cat in any way, nor do I approve of cats being forced into a life of scouting… but I thought the photo was cute anyway.)

Nick, it looks like your friend was able to "bear" being dressed up better than the cat.

Hahaha. I crack myself up. :)

Heheh, I'm so used to Facebook I tried to find the "LIKE" button.  Can girl dogs join Dog Scouts?  My dog Tilly wants to sign up!  (She's even been camping twice now!)

CubbieH

Here is Cubbie. Cubbie is, or should I say was our district mascot. He was giving out to the pack that had the most attendees at a Cub roundtable, with the promise someone would bring him back at the next roundtable. Our pack got him for two months, about 5 years ago. I got to hold on to him and since I was outdoors chair at the time he went on pack campouts with us and came to our den meetings.

Cubbie had a colorful history. Each pack that would keep him would add something to him, such as a unit number patch, usually to his backpack (not shown on this picture). I don't know how old he is, but he had Quality Unit patches dating from the '80's. I don't know if it's true or not, but I heard that he once disappeared for a year, only to turn up in the parking lot during a roundtable meeting.

I'm not too involved in the district anymore, but from what I know, Cubbie has disappeared again. This is sad, because as far as I can tell, he's the longest-serving Cub Scout in our district. After 20 or more years, you'd think he'd move on from the Bear program.
