A couple of us ASMs and MB counselors in the Troop have been asked by a number of boys in the Troop to help them earn all 4 of the Historic MBs. I am interested in how this has been handled by other Troops, camps, MBUs and/or councils. Anyone out there have any info or experiences with these MBs that they can share with us?
Thanks!

We offered two of the MB's at our Spring Merit Badge seminar (district wide) and I expect they'll offer the other two (if they can find counselors) at the Fall seminar.
These were also available at NorCal Jamboree and I've heard mention that other districts are offering similar "workshops" and seminars specifically for these merit badges.
The hardest one (from what I hear) to do is the signaling one. It's hard to find someone qualified to teach it that actually knows what s/he's talking about. I think we're working on finding someone who has military experience to teach ours in the fall.

At Summer Camp three out of the four centennial merit badges were offered. The only one not offered was carpentry due to the lack of equiptement/facilities for it. Myself and a number of scouts in our troop took some time to earn the pathfinding merit badge and the signaller merit badge. As far as I know no one earned tracking at camp due to scheduling conflicts. The council is also going to be offering all four centennial badges at the council "jambo" in the fall. I can't wait to take a shot at earning the tracking and carpentry badges in October. I found pathfinding to be a very easy badge to earn and signaller was bit more challenging but one of the adult leaders in camp was on hand and he knew both semaphore and morse code (it was said he knew morse himself) and was able to help our counselor learn and help us earn the badge.
