Scouts and the "trained" badge

When boys are elected to leadership positions, be it SPL or Scribe, they have a badge of office to wear. I'm wondering, other than TLT and "on the job" training, is there a specific course for each role or is it all covered as a part of TLT? If a boy has gone through TLT, does he wear the trained patch on his uniform for that leadership role?

Den Chief is a bit different than the others because I know there is a separate training course for them and they do wear the trained badge after completing it (I think there's also a method of getting trained that involves individual training from the SM, CM or DL that can be done instead of the training course). But what about all the other roles?

I have been under the impression that once they are trained for their position, they can wear the trained patch.

Oh – found this link:  http://www.scoutinsignia.com/t…..ined.htm  which agrees with the notion that a boy trained for his current position can wear the trained patch.  I'm not sure how many units actually follow this (for positions other than Den Chief), but I've definitely seen it.

I followed up with the Training Coordinator for the Troop and he said that when they do TLT they put every boy through training for every position so he can wear the trained patch, and they're told they can and are encouraged to but not many boys choose to wear the trained patch. Not sure why, but my guess is they don't want the hassle of trying to get the folks at the Scout shop to let them buy one and the troop aren't handing them out when TLT concludes.

I think I have a bag of the old style larger red trained patches, so I'm going to offer them to the troop to hand out at the conclusion of TLT when they run it later this week.
