Quite often I get asked by my parents "what are the requirements for the belt loops".
I usually refer them to the web for the requirements. It turns out that quite a few of the parents don't have internet access. I don't really want to tell them they all need to go out and buy the leader book that has all the requirements listed.
Has anyone seen a condensed listing of requirements maybe in pamphlet for or just a few pages that I could either buy for my parents or print out?
Wondering out loud why they just don't put this in the handbook?
Thanks,
Chris

If they put it in the handbook, then they couldn't sell it as a separate manual for $5 – $8 or whatever it currently costs!
Seriously though, I think the reason for not putting it in the handbooks is because it isn't part of the rank advancement program (except for certain items for Webelos) so they don't want to muddy the waters.
My suggestion would be to either print out a few copies of the worksheets from meritbadge.org (http://meritbadge.org/wiki/ind…..Worksheets), or have the pack buy one or two extra copies of the handbook, mark them as the pack's and let parents or Den Leaders sign them out.

I have links on our Pack Website (www.fremontcubs244.com/requirements.htm) to all the requirements for belt loops as well as all the other non-rank awards the scouts can earn. When I have a non-internet parent that is looking for the requirements I copy out of the Pack copy of the handbook OR I jot them down real quick. The belt loop requirements tend to be really easy and quick to jot down.

That's true. Most of the sports ones are:
1. Talk about the rules of <insert sport here>.
2. Practice the skills for <insert sport here> for at least 30 minutes.
3. Play a game of <insert sport here>.
