Hello All,
Looking for some help with our Webelos. I'm CM for a small Pack that has been 75% Tiger/Wolf for the first 2 years, so I've have to cater my program for the younger ranks (which I love). This year, I've agreed to assist with the 2 Webelos we have. (The other "co-leader" didn't want to run it by himself, and I didn't want to push these boys to another Pack).
So I'm basically wondering how to get the boys through the Citizenship requirements without putting them to sleep?
Thanks in advance.
John R.

Go to visit a village/town/city meeting, and see if the leader will talk with the scouts. We went and sat in with our Village President and he covered a lot of the topics for us. It made it easier for the boys to listen, when the words are coming from the mouth of the Village President.

I think that Chris talked about his Webs doing this in AHAW #196. I may be mistaken. I'll check in a bit, but I believe they attended the City Council meeting and led the flag ceremony. That sounded wonderful to me! Depending on your city, I'd bet that the members might be able to have a Q&A period with the boys about their jobs/ the boys concerns.
(BTW, I'm a green TDL, so I'm not entirely sure of the requirements, but I have found that many local leaders are very open to chatting with their constituants.)

Neat idea. I will check with our city hall for the possibility of a Q&A.
And the Jeopardy idea… Unbelievable. Looks like a ton of fun. My meeting anxiety has actually turned to excitement after seeing this…. I can't wait to try this.
Thanks everyone!

Hey BigMC,
We did a Jeopardy-style quiz with the links you provided (updated) and it was a hit. We're probably going to work this format in for other activities.
Thanks!
