You just had to use that word – tofurkey.  The thought of giant tofurkey farms sends a shiver up my spine.  Hundreds and hundreds of wild tofurkeys, as far as the eye can see.

The only being that can ward off tofurkey is the most dreaded creature of all – tofurby.

That's why I always look for free-range tofurkey. It's a much more humane way to treat soy.

Great show! I am really enjoying these shows a lot. There's a lot to take away. Keep up the good work!

And thanks for the plug Laugh

Oh no, we've unleashed the Furbys…. MISS Shannon, I've decided that Arvada has won our first official Tofurkey contest for making the first snide comment regarding Soy-based products and the importance of nutritious camping foods.

Congrats Arvada, you are free to choose to receive either a Tofurkey or a package of Tofurkey Jurky.

Enjoyed the show and found it entertaining that the discussion on fitness occurred while I was

pounding the daylights out of a treadmill this morning.  I didn't realize that there were that many

Sports belt loops that I can have my Bears work on.  Yukon derby sounds fun, but us poor folks

in the South will just have to dream in envy.  Although it will be mid-70's tomorrow when I'm outside

taking a ton of pies in the face for popcorn sales.

And I definitely need to go back and look at the requirements for the 100 year patch and ribbons.

Feel free to use Show 3 as your motivation to stick with the treadmill!  I was pleasantly surprised myself when I saw how many achievements in sports, health and fitness there were in the program as a whole.  If we get into the beltloops with the boys, we reap the benefits in health … and in fun!  I would love to hear how you incorporated the use of the beltloops in your Bear program this spring.

As always, thanks for listening.

Hi MISSes

I am sorry to knock a great show, but the comment about needing 8 glasses of water per day is wrong. Recent research has shown that it does not need to be water, it should more water bias but it is 8 glasses of fluid, tea, coffee, fruit juice all count, we also get water from things like wet fruits like pears and oranges.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/health/he…..ater.shtml here is some info

As for Tofu well I have one word UCK UCK UCK UCK UCK UCK UCK (ok it is repeated 7 times), you don't drink decaffeinated coffee why eat decaffeinated meat – the thought make me shudder

While I agree that many sources are now saying that it's not NECESSARY to drink 8 glasses of water a day, they aren't setting a goal either and many (if not all) individuals work best with a goal.  My own personal physician gave me the thumbs up just last week for setting a goal of 8.  I tend to drink more than that and water tends to be the only thing I drink besides 1 or 2 cups of hot tea (just to warm me up!!!) that are actually very weak at that (hubby calls it "dirty water" not tea).  Your water intake is not a universal thing so, you are right, that a goal of 8 glasses across the board may not be accurate.  BUT, why not go ahead and set a general goal?  If you can make it, great!  If not, there's some side affects to it, but you won't die (unless you aren't drinking ANY water).  My husband was just recently diagnosed with Diabetes and the Dr also told him that water intake was a big thing for him.  For him, she said ATLEAST 8.

I also don't view that goal as a weight loss system but rather a health goal.  Now, mind you, MISS Shannon is MUCH more versed in this subject than I, but to say "NO, don't drink 8 glasses of water" just because reports say you don't have to might be the same to some as saying "No, don't drink water."  But those are just my observations.
