#71-Feedback
This show was recorded in late August. Apologies for some of the "old" references.
The new Boy Scout handbook, Committee positions, getting ready for Webelos, upcoming topics and lots more are on this week’s show.
Tonight’s show sponsored by Badge Magic

I knew this one was a little dated, but you could have edited out the references to Y2K.

Thanks Chris….glad I could amuse!!!
Our Refreshment's Chair is responsible for making sure the bug juice & coffee is all set & serve the snack at all of the Pack Meetings & events. It takes the need for the CC or CM to remember to bring all the snack crap with them to the meetings. It is a HUGE relief.
The Movie Night Chair is along the same lines. They pick the movie & make sure all the stuff is up & running the night of our Family Movie Night (every other month). Again, it is a load of the CC &/or CM.
The Lions Club is our CO, thus the need for a liaison, especially since we don't have an active COR.

Good Show
- I have to say as a UK scout leader it seem you have more chairs than a concert hall and as for a Camp Chair as Scout Leader I would not trust some one else to book the Camp site for me it the leader does not visit the camp site how does he complete his Camp Risk Assessment.
- I would also like to Query Chris Comment about "Being Not Trained can Kill a Pack" I hold my Woodbadge (I know it means different things in the US at the UK) but I validated some of my module on prior knowledge we out doing training courses I sat down with my TA and discussed what training I required and how I would undertake that but most of my woodbadge was validated on prior knowledge – Can you not do that in the US

Hi Guys
Another one from the UK for you here.
I'd have to say I agree with having someone else organise the camp if I'm camp leader. It sounds great but if they're good/competent why aren't they the camp leader anyway? In the UK you have to be assessed and gain a "Nights Away" permit before you can take Young People away overnight. Even if you get the permit there can still be restrictions on it.
I'd also love to know where you get all these adults from for your committees? Our Executive Committee should have the following:
- Chair – vacant
- Secretary – vacant
- Treasurer – filled
- Parent representatives (pref 6 – ie 2 per section) – 2 filled
The following Leaders are also on the committee:
- Group Scout Leader – vacant
- Beaver Scout Leader – vacant
- Cub Scout Leader – filled
- Scout Leader – filled
As you can see this is 12 adults and doesn't include Assistant Leaders or helpers. Our Group is being run by 5!

Hello Ben
It is rather odd to find someone from my neck of the wood here.
I am sorry to hear about your troubles filling the positions, you should put this to your I would say DC but in your case it is District Team.
They should be able to support you.
On a total separate note are you putting a team into the County Patrol Camping Competition

Hey Chris & Steve
Great show. I just wanted to say that Liberty's reply brought tears to my eyes. It's what i hope for, for my sons. It's why i work so hard to bring a great program for their friends to enjoy too.

Does the apology for 'old' references apply to the Christian Metal = Stryper comment as well? I haven't thought about them in awhile.

Not really. Their new album came out in July. I could go on, but then we'd have to move this to the "Anything Goes" section.
