The Scouting Heritage Merit Badge is a new merit badge and a great way to allow Scouts to learn about the rich history and heritage of not only the Boy Scouts of America but the Scouting movement.

Oh you should so do a show on the lone scout…. my hubby is going to have one as of June 1. He feels very lost. Getting any information is really hard. This would be a great one.

Great job guys. It is always important to understand the history behind things – makes them more meaningful. Sometimes thought it's hard to get the boys to appreciate it.

I do not like to do merit badges in troop meetings, but this is one that I may consider doing. I could see showing videos of BP, bringing in older scouters I know who are Eagles, having a contest to see which scout could be first to find 10 facts online about Seton or West or Beard. Celebrate with a Pizza party the anniversary date of the BSA, have a fellow SM bring slides of a Philmont trip (shameless plug), and so on. Sounds good.
