Great show Jerry. I noticed that in your talk about all of the different clothes you guys pack, you did not mention undies. Do you just go comando?

Undies…
Well.. I will only speak for myself.. but comando is not whats happening here. In summer, just plain old what ever you typically wear is in order. In the winter we stay away from cotton.
On t-shirts. We wear Sweat wicking underwear almost exclusively. (Summer and winter) like under armor or the like.
Stoves…
Jet boil
Snow Peak Giga Power
Primus etaPower
MSR Pocket rocket
Brunton Raptor
Hope that helps get an idea. I believe that all of these stoves are mentioned in the show. I know that all of the above stoves are used by my self or my assistant Scoutmasters… and that is pretty much the list of stoves you would see in my unit. (oh and I listed them in no particular order… just how I got the links.)
Stay tuned to the show.. I have a real special guest coming up in the very (and I mean Very) near future. Tinny from Minibull Design will be joining me to talk about Alcohol stoves… if you are interested in some ultra light gear.

I absolutely love my Jetboil. I have the PCS and GCS system and both are excellent, small, lightweight and fuel efficient.

(Sorry for the double-post).
One item that is always in my backpack is a stick of Body Glide. After a couple of days on the trail, nothing is worse than having to hike the rest of the way out with chafing…ouch! Thanks to Body Glide (and a pair of Underarmour compression shorts as my skivvies) it is no longer a problem.
This may be squarely in the TMI area of things.

It's not TMI if you've ever had to complete a hike with chafing. I always pack Goldbond.

I bought 2 of the Brunton Raptor stoves and am thouroughly impressed with them, especailly since this is my FIRST outdoor stove. I have always cooked over a fire while camping, but now, with this little stove, I won't be using fires anymore…especially with LNT and the fire-bans that we frequently get.
With the starting of the new troop, this stove was so economical when I researched it, that I found an online deal for 1 stove for $30, MSRP is $49.99….so I bought 2. I have done quite a bit of at-home testing, and some in-field…works great for making spaghetti or coffee. any size canister will fit on it, just be sure that it's the isobutane/propane tanks.
What to cook it in? GSI Soloist…once again, found a great online deal, where I basically got 2 for the price of 1. Ethan tested the cookset out and it worked for him, but I can say this for sure…if you will be doing most of your cooking for 2 or are a really big eater, then get the dualist. The Soloist can handle a very hearty helping of say spaghetti and meatballs, but that is about it…
And for the compact-factor….the Brunton canisters won't fit in the bowl that comes with the Soloist, but they will fit in the pot. I have some Sno-Peak canisters that will fit in the bowl, that fit in the pot…in other words, the smaller canister will nest very nicely into one, compact unit.
Here is a pic of making coffee with a Raptor [you can't see the stove]….
