I just listened to Show 45 and it was great! I am going on my first winter campout this weekend with my Webelos son and his prospective troop. The information was timely and completely accurate. I don't like the cold weather, and we are supposed to get a lot of it here this weekend, but I hope that with some of the tips you mentioned, I can make it more enjoyable for myself and for my son.
Definitely a good show. I took some time to listen but I haven't had time to really comment until tonight. Definitely appreciate the links, as well.
Shannon is braver than I am. I'm not sure I'd be willing to do cold weather camping with Boy Scouts on my first time out. I look forward to hearing how her trip went!

thanks Liberty.. Clearly.. not the "2nd best show on PTC", but I love to camp in the winter.
It can all be summed up with "BE PREPARED". Once you have the right gear, the right plan, and the proper training/preparation.. Winter Camping is some of the best times you will have in the wilderness.
Thanks for listening.
I'll be doing a winter gear show in January.

Thanks Jerry! Emailed the podcast to the SPL, he will use it as a review for the older scouts and a good Skills Demo for the 1st year Scouts. Taking the podcast and building on it with his leadership corps…
What a great resource!
