The MISS Show

About The Show

Moms in Scouting Service is a twice monthly podcast dedicated to sharing Scout related information from the perspective of volunteering mothers. There’s a little something for families and leaders new to Scouting as well as more seasoned veterans of the BSA. Topics discussed include outings, activities, resources and products, as well as round-the-table discussions about current hot topics in Scouting.

About The Hosts

Miss Emily: I am a single mom of one exuberant, 7-year old boy. We live in Atlanta, Georgia. I am currently a Tiger Den Leader and Assistant Popcorn Kernel, and will be taking over as Committee Chair for my pack after the current CC crosses over in March. My son is a tiger, and we both signed up for scouting when he aged into the program at the end of the May. My other, “paid” job involves research on children’s behavior problems and the effects of stressful life events on their development.

Miss Liberty: With almost five years of volunteering within Scouting under her belt, Liberty has held such illustrious positions as: Webelos Den Leader, Committee Chairman, and recently accepted the position of District Membership Chairman. As well, she writes the District newsletter and assists with the District Training Staff as needed.

Miss Shannon: A mother of 2 boys from Chicago, IL. Cubmaster for the past 3 years, as well as former Tiger and Wolf Den Leader. Former Trainer on District and Council Committee. Both boys are currently in Cub Scouts, oldest is a soon to be Boy Scout. I’ve been involved in scouting for approximately 5 years.

#20 – Feeling the Feedback

In this show, we sift through some feedback (some of it very, very old), and ask for even more feedback from our listeners.  Some topics discussed: First Aid Kits, the new BSA Tour Plans, great tips for hopeful Aquanauts, and of course a quick update on where we’ve been and why we haven’t recorded.

Congratulations to Elaine from Troop 42 for winning the $20 gift certificate from Trailstop.com and for being entered to win the $50 gift certificate from ClassB.com and congratulations to Round Table Commissioner Phil for winning our own “Runner Up” prize.  (Don’t worry, Phil, you’re still in the running for winning the “real” prizes from PTC Media by other shows – we just loved your Beavers!)

Hosted by MISS Liberty.  Sponsored by Badge Magic
